By 2030, sales of electric scooters are expected to cross 2 million a year, even as most carmakers resist bringing electric cars to India. Scooters can also be charged quickly and more easily. India's annual retail inflation rate dropped to an 18-month low of 2.19 percent in December.
 
President Trump said China is feeling the pain from U.S. tariffs, but talks so far on a trade deal between the two nations haven’t yielded concrete results. The U.S. and European Union are staking out sharply different goals for coming trade negotiations, raising the prospect for renewed trans-Atlantic commercial tensions.
