Macro Economic News 09 Jan 2019
The National Federation of Independent Business said its optimism
index fell in December, a fourth straight month of declines, and the outlook on
business conditions reached its lowest level since late 2016. The U.S. and
China made progress on narrowing their differences on trade issues and
purchases of U.S. goods and services, though the two sides are far from
striking a deal. The number of unfilled jobs in the U.S. fell in November to
the lowest level since June, though openings still exceeded unemployed
Americans.
